Garage Graduation was a night of top indie music

Garage Graduation (캐러지 졸업식) at Shiva Pub was a night of phenomenal live music and unforgettable memories. The venue, with its intimate, psychedelic decor and infectious good vibe, provided the ideal setting for a night of raw intensity, emotional depth, and memorable performances. Comemos Nuvem, Euukk, Sally Everywhere, and Old English SheepDog were the four bands who performed that night. And each brought their own distinct sound and flair to the stage.
Comemos Nuvem, the opening act, got the evening going with a lot of raw energy. This Geoje-based punk rock group gave an unforgettable performance that was both passionate and explosive. With classic rock roots shining through their punk ethos, the band’s crazy guitar riffs and unmatched energy electrified the room. The energetic dancing and dynamic stage presence of the guitarists were also infectious throughout the crowd. However, this performance was also a bittersweet message, as the band announced they’d soon be going on hiatus due to military service.

Next up on the stage was Eukk, a grunge and garage rock-inspired band that wasted no time in getting to the beat. Their heavy drums and raw, unfiltered energy reminded us of the wild passion of early grunge. The band’s casual yet biting lyrics, paired with distorted guitar sounds and a fuzzy, gritty vibe, fit the night perfectly. Eukk’s music felt like a punch to the gut—in the best possible way. Their performance connected with the audience on a primal level, leaving everyone craving more.
Then Sally Everywhere took the stage. This band took the night to new heights with their energetic performance. This band's music was an excellent blend of 90s Britpop melodies and the wild, liberating spirit of punk rock. The smashing sound waves were both chaotic and impressive. The band's ability to smoothly change tempos and moods adds new levels to their performance. Sally Everywhere's music felt anthemic, with each song building a connection that was impossible to ignore.
Old English SheepDog, a Seoul-based shoegaze and post-punk revival band, rounded out the night with a beautiful, otherworldly performance. Their math rock-inspired guitar riffs were complicated and fascinating, and the synthy vocals and energetic guitar solos created an otherworldly atmosphere. The band’s sound was both introspective and expansive, like floating through a sonic dreamscape. There was a palpable sense of chemistry among the band members, their performance a perfect balance of technical prowess and emotional resonance.
Ultimately, what stood out most about the night was the chemistry between all four bands, both on and off the stage. The members of each group contributed something special, but collectively, they created a story about unity, creativity, and love of music. The camaraderie was catching, and it only added to the magic of the evening.
As the night came to an end, Shiva Pub was a celebration of music’s ability to evoke and inspire. Each band brought their spin of raw emotion and unbridled energy, creating a night that felt both deeply personal and universally relatable. If this is what live music is about, then we’re lucky to have such talent and passion in the world.
